The client required a lift to provide access to and from public galleries including a facility to evacuate less abled persons from the upper floors and to serve an additional gallery level above the old shaft.

This lift was originally a 5 person direct acting borehole hydraulic with manually operated gates. A new 10 person capacity lift with gearless ACVF drive was installed within a modified lift shaft.

Planning & Listed building consent was obtained for the works by the design team.
